Giclée prints......

Producing giclée quality prints requires considerably more than just the purchase of a large printer and calling yourself a fine art printer....as many have found to their cost, and sadly to the cost and frustration of their clients!

First you need a digital file that's been prepared specifically for the job. A picture taken on a normal digital camera is not going to be a suitable starting point....you may have already seen the sort of equipment we use. If required we are able to prepare digital files for printing from large colour transparencies, please see drum scanning in the next section.

The digital files for printing will usually require some additional work to be carried out on them, to ensure that every colour is faithfully reproduced on the chosen paper.....this is often called mastering. This is where considerable skill is needed to get all elements absolutely right, and cannot be rushed.

We make giclée prints on a choice of superb handmade papers and canvas. Where large prints are required we work inconjunction with an excellent local print studio.
